Requests for money are FRAUDULENT. Schemes may be elaborate, involving supposed travel agents, visa preparation etc.
If you need to use anyone then use your local agent. Do not use anyone across the internet.
If someone asks for money or offers flight tickets, please report them to us IMMEDIATELY.
Is Direct Aupairs an au pair agency?
Direct aupairs is a job database, not an agency.
We provide facilities on our website to connect families to au pairs, and information to help both parties to carry out a mutual exchange of information leading to a successful agreement.
Please note that we do not carry out reference checks.
Is my information safe?
We provide security of information. Our username and password secure login prevents unauthorised access, ensuring that every operation is only carried out by someone who has a right to do so.
We make au pair contact details available to families if the family becomes a premium member, however unlike some other sites we do not make family contact details available to au pairs.
What fees do we charge?
The only people we charge is the family for access to contact information.
Unlike many other "direct" online sites we do not charge au pairs any fee as we do not allow them access to family contact information.
Do I need an au pair agency?
No. The USA is the only country where you need to use an agency. To go to the USA you need a J1-Visa, which can be obtained through six registered agencies.

How do I search for a family or au pair?
You can carry out a search using the criteria you entered when you registered, or you can choose to use our advanced search to widen the scope of nationalities, duration of stay and other criteria to see if there are any other au pairs or families that you may be interested in. The advanced searches are only available to registered users.
Can an au pair see details about my family?
Yes, but only general details about your family and your requirements. They are not allowed to have your contact details at any time. This is different to many on line sites as we regard your children's security as paramount.
Do I need to become a Premium Member?
No. You don't have to become a premium member, but if you are a family you will need Premium membership to see any au pair's contact information.

Some agencies allow your family contact details to be seen by "au pairs", but as we are all aware, internet users are not always who you think they are! For this reason we have taken a decision that we will not allow access to your family contact information. The only information we make available is general details about your requirements, geographic location and number and ages of children.
